Parking:
South of the church there is an open green area with hardstanding for about four cars. Other spaces are available in the roads surrounding the church.
Access:
Enter the church through the south door, turn left and go through the heavy door into the vestry. A short spiral staircase on the left leads to the ringing room.
Toilets:
None at the Church.
Historic note:
This is one of the 40 sites dedicated to St. Cuthbert, as one of the resting places of the Saint’s body after his death on Holy Island. The relics were carried around Strathclyde and Northumbria for about 7 years before being buried in Durham Cathedral. The present church dates from the 12th century and the tower from the 14th century.
