The ringers of All Saints Church, Cockermouth will be joining in with the Heritage Open Days – a national festival of history and culture (https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk). In the past, these have been very successful events with large numbers of public attending and the profile of bell ringing being raised.
The tower will be open to the public between Thursday 14th and Saturday 16th September as follows: Thursday 2 – 4pm, Friday 10am – 4 pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm. There will be general information, videos, short talk, children’s activities and hopefully hand bell demos/workshops available in the main church. We provide timed tours up into the tower where there will be ringing demos and a ‘have a go’ session available for the public.
All guild ringers are welcome to come along to share in the fun and lend a hand for an hour or two on any of the days. If you would like to join us then please let Diana know, by text or email (07858074133 or dianagreen62@gmail.com), so she can co-ordinate the number of ringers in the tower at any one time.
